Artunder50 is pround to present its first online art exhibition of paintings by Rohit Sharma. Rohit, who is a graduate of College of Art, showcases his recent work of ten paintings which show the nuances faced by a person living in Delhi. One of the finest young talents of today, Rohit has achieved numerous awards and participated in exhibitions all over the country. We appreciate his support to our cause and we hope you enjoy the show.

Rohit Sharma: Delhi on Road

Rohit’s work has evolved over a period of time with deep influence of his working in the city….as a student at the college of art and then as an art teacher, his understanding of the nuances of life in the city are reflected in his keen sense of observation of day to day life…. which unfolds in his work which most tend to ignore. This series brings out the obvious understated yet always visible part of being in the city. The cows, the vehicles all with distinct identity and …the background of the labyrinthine streets that they inhabit. This body of work brings us to face the realities of the city….which is constantly on the move. The donkey is a reflection of what most people in the city would love to be .that of having a red carpet status laid out to them …as most inhabitants of the city are no less than stars… even if it is only they who believe it.

Art under 50

Art Under 50 is an initiative by Delhi West Round Table 50 to support Round Table India's long term goal 'Freedom through Education'. 

About Round Table India:

Round Table India is an organization of non-political and non-sectarian young men between the age group of 18 and 40. The aim of the young men is to promote service, fellowship and goodwill in national and international affairs. Round Table India, the association was formed in 1962 with a membership of 100. Today there are 2500 members across India; individuals who can rise above personal concerns to seek and serve the larger needs of the community.

Round Table International, which includes Round Table India, exists in 54 countries with a total membership of around 38,000 tablers.

Freedom through Education (FTE) is a long term national program launched by Round Table India to provide basic infrastructure for primary education in rural India, with a goal to reach out to One Million children.

The proceeds of the exhibition will be channelized to Mandi school, located in Mandi village in New Delhi, beyond the Chattarpur farmhouses. We would be happy to organize visits to the school for interested people to view the development of the school blocks.
